Ron Isley Brings Star Power to Long Island for Brandy Launch at Total Wines

Music Icon Ron Isley Launches Signature Brandy, Bringing Community Pride and Flavor to Long Island

Westbury, NY – Long Island was alive with excitement on Saturday, November 9th, as legendary singer Ron Isley of The Isley Brothers graced Total Wines in Westbury to launch his signature brandy, Contagious.  Fans turned out in droves, creating an electric atmosphere as they gathered to support not one but two Black-owned businesses. Isley’s brandy, crafted with finesse by Black Momma Brands, a Wyandanch-based distillery owned by Vanessa Braxton, brought a palpable sense of pride to the occasion.

Total Wines welcomed attendees warmly, with the friendly staff offering samples of "Contagious" as the Ron Isley team engaged with the crowd. The Liquid Gold team set the mood, playing classic Isley Brothers songs that echoed through the venue and brought a nostalgic energy to the event.

During the day, I had a chance to chat briefly with Mr. Isley himself. Curious about what he wanted fans to know about "Contagious", I asked him just that. His response was smooth and confident, much like his new brandy: “It’s the smoothest drink in the world.” His words captured the essence of the product, and you could feel the pride he took in bringing it to life.

For fans, each bottle purchased came with a personal signature from Mr. Biggs himself, creating a truly memorable keepsake. Among the attendees was Kandy, CEO and Co-Founder of Liquid Gold, who was onsite chatting with customers and collecting their reactions to the samples. One reaction stood out: Harlem’s own Chef Tammi, of Harlem Seafood Soul, took a taste and immediately sparked an idea for a holiday drink recipe. “I’m putting my chef hat on,” she said, inspired to create something new and delicious with "Contagious".

The event wasn’t just a product launch—it was a celebration of culture, music, and the entrepreneurial spirit that connects communities. As fans left with their signed bottles, they carried more than just a drink; they took home a piece of history and a reminder of the power of supporting Black-owned brands.

For those who couldn’t attend, "Contagious" is available at Total Wines in Westbury, and supporting it means backing businesses that honor heritage, resilience, and the joy of shared moments.
